What is a Healthy Mindset?

“Healthy mindset, Positive mindset, Growth mindset, Fixed mindset, Negative mindset.” You may have heard these terms used before but what are they & how do each of them vary & influence our lives?

Well really all of these mindset titles can be placed into 2 categories, Growth mindset & Fixed mindset. A ‘Growth mindset’ carries healthy & positive performance techniques which allows for learning & adapting possibilities while a ‘Fixed mindset’ behaves more in a limiting manner & can promote negative outlooks on situations.

Some of us might know a person that always seems positive, happy, never lets things get to them or always looks on the bright side of life & we might think that’s just the way they are. Yes we are born with certain interpretation & response characteristics but this is not where our outlook on life stops. As we grow we are constantly building, developing & modifying the programs in our mind that we use to deal with whatever happens throughout our lives.

Without knowing it, our subconscious mind is constantly taking in billions of pieces of information everyday, at the same time every second it is filtering this information & storing it based on the regulations & rules that we have set up previously. If we aren’t consciously setting these guidelines up then our subconscious does the best that it can in order to keep us safe so we can survive. We then use this information to form our own interpretation or map of the world & how & where we fit into it. Once we have this map then we use this data to respond to everything we are exposed to, we respond using thoughts, language, feelings, emotions, behaviors & actions.

Our response is the reflection of the mindset we have designed, which is dictated by the rules we’ve set up in our amazing super computer mind. In order for our subconscious to respond in a Growth mindset manner we need to take control & reprogram the mind to serve us in the best way to move forward. It starts with choice, choose your thoughts & language carefully & you will improve your mindset skills which can change your life for the better!
